The Spirit of the Lord

The Spirit of the Lord mentioned in Isaiah 1:2 is the Holy Spirit. Why is this important? The Holy Spirit is mentioned both in the Old Testament and the New Testament. In the Old Testament people rebelled against God. In the New Testament they rebelled against Jesus. Today, our society, rebels against the Holy Spirit. Even some in the faith do not fully accept the Holy Spirit. This is why we see so many Christians in spiritual bondage (addiction, infidelity, anger, pride, self-righteousness, etc.). This is also why we see a church without power. I encourage each of us to examine our own hearts and ask God for the Holy Spirit.

“So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.””

‭‭Luke‬ ‭11:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭3:17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“We are witnesses of these things and so is the Holy Spirit, who is given by God to those who obey him.””

‭‭Acts 5:32‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“And the Spirit of the Lord will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭11:2‬ ‭NLT‬‬
